Riding arenas, flat track, museum, camping, trails, horseshoes & more -
Camp Lockett where a majestic 167 acres awaits you.
We welcome and encourage riders of all ages and skill levels. To us, there is nothing more exciting than seeing a rider build a lasting partnership with their equine family member. By riding in gymkhana events, you have the opportunity to build a trusting relationship between horse and rider, and challenge yourself and horse to be confident in new situations. Is competing not your thing? Not to worry! We are low pressure and you don’t have to compete for points.
Round Up is Camp Lockett's annual fundraiser, traditionally held the first Saturday in May. Click the image to go to learn more about the Camp Lockett Round Up 2020.
Camp Lockett Event & Equestrian Facility (aka CLEEF) is complete with two full size arenas and plenty of trailer parking. Our main arena has a sound booth, sign-up counter, and bleacher seating. The largest of two full size arenas is 300 X 150 Ft and can accommodate timed events such as roping, and barrel racing!
Camp Lockett has a museum dedicated to the history of the Buffalo Soldier. Built in 1941, Camp Lockett was occupied by the military until 1946 and was the last training facility constructed for mounted cavalry units in Southern California.
